Ann Summers runs one of the UK's most distinctive specialty retail estates, with a product mix that turns over fast and a store network that spans dramatically different catchments and trade patterns.
Replenishment had become the team's biggest operational headache. Five fill levels, dynamic sales curves, and a wide assortment meant that any rule-based system needed to be both nuanced and ruthlessly automated. Manual store-by-store tweaking was simply not viable at scale.
Working with Pyramid, the team rebuilt replenishment around five configurable fill levels driven by live sales curves. The system now manages core collections automatically, surfacing only the exceptions that genuinely need a human eye. Stockouts on key lines have dropped, terminal stock is down, and the planning team has reclaimed the time that used to go on routine reorder maintenance.
Replenishment used to be a daily firefight. Now it runs itself for the vast majority of the range, and we focus our attention where it actually matters.
