REFERENCE
Pyramid's integration architecture connects every module in the suite, enabling seamless data flow between planning, forecasting, allocation, replenishment, and your existing enterprise systems.
Integration Architecture
Pyramid is designed as a tightly integrated, modular solution. Each of the six core applications — Planning, Assortment, Allocation, Replenishment, Forecast, and Analytics — communicates through a shared data layer and well-defined integration points.
This architecture means that data flows automatically between modules: a merchandise plan feeds the assortment process, which informs allocation decisions, which drive replenishment calculations — all without manual data transfer or reconciliation.
SmartPlanning Suite
The SmartPlanning Suite provides the integration backbone that connects Pyramid's modules:
Core Planning
- Custom model to meet specific business requirements
- Custom views, workflows, and calculation sets/formulae
- Full API access to planning data for downstream processes
FastPlan
- Best-in-class pre-configured planning model
- Pre-defined workflows with industry-standard calculations
- Integrated standard reporting
- Accelerated implementation (typically 3 months vs 6 months for Core Planning)
Both options expose planning data to the Analytics data warehouse, making it available for forecasting, allocation, and replenishment algorithms.
Forecasting Interface
The Forecast Manager provides a structured interface for requesting and consuming forecasts:
Request Parameters:
- Product: Any level of the merchandise hierarchy
- Location: Any level of the location hierarchy (channel, region, store)
- Period: Time range for the forecast
- Measures: Sales, Stock, Intake, or custom measures
Forecasting Algorithms:
- Average Weekly Sales (AWS) — incorporates historical sales, weekly weights, and lost sales
- Time Series (Classic Multiplicative Model)
- Exponential Smoothing
- Regression Trend Analysis
- Moving Weighted Average
Output:
- Forecast results are saved to the database and made available across all modules
- Visual review and manual adjustment capabilities
- Forecasts can seed Planning, drive Replenishment, and inform Allocation decisions
ERP & External System Integration
Pyramid integrates with enterprise systems at multiple points:
- SmartRetail Integration: Native connectivity with SmartRetail for order management, master data, and inventory synchronisation
- Third-Party ERP: Standard integration protocols for connecting with SAP, Oracle, and other enterprise resource planning systems
- Purchase Order Generation: Automatic PO creation from Allocation and Replenishment calculations, distributed to ERP or warehouse management systems
- Master Data Synchronisation: Product, location, and supplier master data can be imported and maintained via automated feeds
- Export Capabilities: Grid-level data export from any module for downstream processing
Analytics Data Access
The Analytics Multidimensional Data Warehouse exposes planning and transactional data through multiple access methods:
- SSAS Cubes: Direct OLAP connectivity for multidimensional queries
- SSRS Reports: Operational and scheduled reports with parameterised filtering
- Power BI: Native connectivity for visual dashboards and executive reporting
- Excel Pivot Tables: Familiar spreadsheet-based analysis connected to live data
- Cube Browser: Built-in interface for ad-hoc OLAP exploration
All analytics data uses the same calculation formulae as the planning modules, ensuring consistency between what planners see and what reports show.
Allocation Data Interfaces
The Allocation Manager supports six distinct allocation methods, each consuming data from different sources:
- Performance vs Plan: Uses actual sales vs plan sales from Store Plans, Assortment Planning, or third-party sources
- Dynamic Analysis: Sources data from the planning analytics data cube with customisable measures
- Sell-off %: Analyses store sell-through patterns to identify stores most likely to sell out
- Build Back to Ideal: Uses ideal quantities from Store Plans, Assortment Plans, or Optimum Management
- Replenish Sales: Simple replenishment based on user-defined weeks of sales
- Top Up Allocation: Store-level analysis of what was sold by option
All methods integrate with the automated Size Profiling system and can distribute instructions to SmartRetail or third-party ERP systems.
